KEITEX is a Toronto workshop. We source loved electronics from Korean and Japanese markets — flip phones, compact cameras, digital watches, portable audio, handheld gaming — and we restore them, repair them, and design and manufacture custom cases and parts for them on-site.
Our work sits between three things people usually keep separate: a curated marketplace for collectors of specific Korean-domestic-market and Japanese devices, a manufacturing workshop that produces protective accessories on demand, and a repair bench that brings devices back from the brink when OEM parts no longer exist.
Why Korea and Japan?
Korean and Japanese hardware companies have produced devices that the rest of the world never saw. Flip phones with build quality and design language that simply doesn't appear in the global Galaxy/iPhone duopoly. Compact cameras tuned for the way people actually hold them. Watches built for sport, not status. We focus on the categories where this regional difference shows up most clearly:
- Phones — Korean-domestic-market flip phones, sliders, and compact flagships from Samsung, LG, Sharp, and Kyocera.
- Cameras — Fixed-lens compacts and enthusiast vintage gear.
- Watches — Digital sports watches built for utility.
- Audio — Premium portable players and Japanese-domestic-market accessories.
- Gaming — Rare handhelds and nostalgic portables.
The workshop
Our workshop in North Toronto does three things in parallel.
We manufacture parts. Cases, replacement housings, NFC-transparent backs, structural components, and brand-matched display elements come off our in-house manufacturing line using engineered materials matched to each part. Every part is designed in-house and prototyped before it ships.
We repair devices. Korean-domestic-market flip phones, vintage audio players, digital watches, and compact cameras come in for screen, battery, hinge, button, and housing repairs. When an OEM replacement part is genuinely impossible to source, we make one in-house. That keeps obscure devices serviceable when the alternative is e-waste.
We curate inventory. Every device that goes up for sale is inspected, tested, cleaned, and graded. We replace worn batteries and tactile buttons before listing. Condition reports and high-resolution photography ship with every item so you know what you're getting.
How we source
Our Korean and Japanese inventory pipeline runs on direct relationships with established consolidators and forwarders. We do not hold inventory in Korea or Japan — every purchase ships direct from the partner warehouse to our Toronto facility.
In Seoul, we work with Hoon Hur at ShopnShip and Jiyeon Park at Kfriday on per-shipment consolidations for new SKU testing, and with Delivered Korea as our incumbent monthly volume partner. We are actively benchmarking PINKBOX, Korgou, Paysable, and Com&Buy as part of an ongoing supply-chain review to validate UN3481 lithium battery handling compliance and per-item economics at our 30-item, 8 kg, monthly cadence.
In Tokyo, every Mercari purchase routes through Buyee, the largest licensed Japanese marketplace proxy, with consolidated FedEx International Priority outbound to Toronto.
Air freight is FedEx-only for any lithium-ion-bearing device, with red-bordered UN3481 Class 9 Lithium Battery Handling Marks affixed by the originating warehouse before pickup. Customs clearance into Canada is handled by FedEx Trade Networks; KEITEX holds its own importer-of-record account with CRA and remits HST through Stallion Express on the outbound leg.
For 3D-printed accessories and replacement parts, our material supply comes from established additive-manufacturing channels in Ontario — Filaments.ca and 3DPrintingCanada for TPU, PLA, and PETG filament — with acrylic capsule figurines sourced through bulk runs on Aliexpress and Alibaba. Equipment and tooling are sourced through Canada Computers and 3D Phacktory (Toronto-based scan-and-print service) for prototype iteration before going to in-house production.
